About the Program

Mission Harbor’s adolescent program is available at both our Santa Barbara and Los Angeles facilities. The program is designed for those between the ages of 12 to 17 that are dealing with mental health issues such as substance abuse, social anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression. We invite families, and parents particularly, to join the treatment and recovery process in a convenient outpatient setting.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) runs 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday–Friday, from 1:00 PM to 7:15 PM.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) runs 3 hours a day, 3–5 days a week, Monday–Friday, either 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM or 4:15 PM to 7:15 PM.

We Can Help

Common questions

Will my teen miss school?

Sessions are scheduled after school hours. We coordinate with the school where that helps, and academic support is part of the plan rather than an afterthought.

What ages does the adolescent program serve?

The program is built for ages 12 to 17, with groups arranged so younger and older teens are not mixed.

How involved are parents?

Family participation is part of the program, not an add-on. Parents and guardians attend regular sessions and get a clear picture of progress throughout.

Is insurance accepted?

Most major carriers are accepted, and benefits are verified before admission so there is no guesswork about cost.

Does my teen need a referral from their school or doctor?

No referral is required. Many families come to us directly, and we coordinate with a school or provider when that helps.

What is expected of parents week to week?

Regular family sessions and a clear picture of progress throughout. Participation is part of the program rather than an optional extra.

Is treatment confidential?

Everything discussed in treatment is protected health information. Nothing is shared without written consent, apart from the narrow exceptions the law requires.

How do I get started?

Call admissions. The first conversation covers what you are looking for, verifies your benefits, and schedules an assessment. There is no cost to ask.
