Dr. James Wood, Ph.D.
Group Facilitator
Dr. Wood is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and has worked in the mental health field in Southern California for over 35 years. He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Cambridge Graduate School of Psychology in 1991, and he completed four years of training as a candidate at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (L.A.I.S.P.S.). Dr. Wood is a Vietnam Combat Veteran and has extensive experience with many forms of PTSD.
He believes that recovery should be an opportunity to discover and resolve obstacles that are preventing a person from living the life they desire, and he believes people have almost an unlimited ability to self actualize and become their best self.

Our Los Angeles facility sits on Venice Boulevard between Marina Del Rey and Culver City, a few miles from Venice and Santa Monica with easy access to the 405 and 10.
